Exark Resources Explained - Food, Production, Inspiration and Gold
Understand the four core resources in Exark: Food, Production, Inspiration, and Gold. Learn how each resource works and how to balance them.
The Four Core Resources
Exark runs on four resources:
| Resource | What It Does | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Food | Fuels buildings; stockpiles increase cycle speed | 1 - Foundation |
| Production | Lets you construct more buildings | 2 - Expansion |
| Inspiration | Enables hiring crew with unique skills | 3 - Optimization |
| Gold | Buy buildings and crew outright at dockside markets | 4 - Shortcut |
The Core Loop
Food keeps buildings running, then Production builds more, then Inspiration hires crew, then Gold buys shortcuts.
How to Balance Resources
- Start with Food - without a Food stockpile, your buildings slow down.
- Add Production - once Food is stable, expand your ark.
- Invest in Inspiration - hire crew to boost your best buildings.
- Use Gold when you have surplus - do not rely on Gold for your core economy.
